Production Notes

A Word from
The Director,
Nathalie Camidebach

At the beginning of the adventure we call "Remember The Eyes", there was Marie. With her script and her desire to make a movie…with her words, her smiles and her struggles, Marie's movie is her voice raised against what seems unfair and sometimes absurd in life, but always in the pursuit for love and for the freedom of being ourselves. I was honored to be her director…Then others heard her voice too, and around her a team began to appear: First an actress, then a director of photography, an editor, and all of us: the "dream team". This wonderful team, that day by day, despite the fatigue… despite unending hours of hard work…despite the fear of not being able to finish…always working without complaint, with the crazy desire to give birth to "Remember The Eyes"...to see it flicker to life and shine on the big screen… this is my adventure…our adventure…it is a very simple one, and though it might seem to resemble others, it is ours and we are proud to present to you: "Remember The Eyes"... Nathalie

The Journey

After weeks of pre-production, three around-the-clock days of production, and weeks of post-production what would you like me to tell you? A French producer, a German actor, an American editor flying in from Germany speaking portuguese, a Danish composer, a Korean actor, a Venezuelan best girl and a French director who keeps switching from "Action" to "Akssion" (with a french accent)! A director of photography who is scared of heights, an assistant director doubling as our script supervisor. What else...oh yes, a French actress who doesn't wait for "Action" and an American actress losing strength in her arms after endless physically challenging re-takes! A sound mixer who seems to be training for "Cirque du soleil", contorting his body to be invisible under the passenger seat of a car! A make-up artist losing her english in Marie's crazy hair. The gaffer preparing for a marathon and the best boy/key grip keeping us all together with his best hugs. An associate producer who is forced to kidnap the producer for a few hours and change her into an actress!...And then "Maggie the dog" who got more attention than the rest of the crew, who made sure she always had an icy cold bottle of water on her belly to keep her cool while the lead actress was suffocating... But after all of that, we all spoke the same language: the language of passion and commitment to make a wonderful movie, to make some "art" from our "hearts" to you! Marie

A Word from
The Producer
and Writer,
Marie Roux

Why Producing…Why me…Why now?
You tell me!
Because after being so often so close, after hearing so many times "You should make your own movie", the voice inside became louder.
Because my path, I guess, is to go and get my own ladder to grab the stars, cause no one is handing me one and the sky isn't falling low enough. So in the process of following my dream, I have realized that acting alone wasn't enough. But what is important to me today, is being an actress in stories and films that inspire me and others. I do believe that each aspect of life is sacred and meaningful…a word, a touch, a glance, a film.
There is always a reason to why things happen the way they do and I am so grateful that it led me to making my first film "Remember The Eyes", with the most amazing team, "The Dream Team" as Nathalie would call it.
I think I got some "Invisible" ladders along the way because it is a magical journey!
So I write, I produce, I act… Thank you all.
Marie
